I have a PC and the program is Sid Meier’s Civilization IV. I know I already asked this question, but I tried all the answers and none worked. I deleted the folder from my hardrive but it is still installed on my computer. If I insert the CD it came on, nothing happens, I went to My Computer and told it to run and it wouldn’t. I tried uninstalling it in safe mode but got the same results. I downloaded Perfect Uninstaller and before it would uninstall it, it asked me to buy it or it wouldn’t work. I uninstalled that… The error message reads: “An error (-5004:0x8004f42) has occured while running the setup. Please make sure you have finished any previous setup and closed other application.” I closed all other applications and don’t know what a previous setup might be. The reason why I am trying to uninstall it is because it stopped working after I downloaded a patch for it. Please help.

This may be a corrupt registry file. Try a registry repair program and see if it works.

Try going to My Computer and on the left go to where it says “Add or Remove Program” (assuming you have XP)
It should be on the list and this should remove it from your system.
