I’m desperate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i have a third handmedown and laptop that has Intel centrino and it is as slow as hell. please help me. i dont want to buy this so please tel me a free download for it and make sure it doesnt have viruses or popups or anything at all like that. I have a PC and the program is Sid Meier’s Civilization IV. I know I already asked this question, but I tried all the answers and none worked. I deleted the folder from my hardrive but it is still installed on my computer. If I insert the CD it came on, nothing happens, I went to My Computer and told it to run and it wouldn’t. I tried uninstalling it in safe mode but got the same results. I downloaded Perfect Uninstaller and before it would uninstall it, it asked me to buy it or it wouldn’t work. I uninstalled that… The error message reads: “An error (-5004:0x8004f42) has occured while running the setup. Please make sure you have finished any previous setup and closed other application.” I closed all other applications and don’t know what a previous setup might be. The reason why I am trying to uninstall it is because it stopped working after I downloaded a patch for it. Please help.

This may be a corrupt registry file. Try a registry repair program and see if it works.

The Add/Remove tool on my Windows Vista does not remove some programs and I downloaded Perfect Uninstaller and ran the program only to find out you have to buy it to use it, no free demos.

Is there anything free I can use to uninstall stubborn programs without having to go in and mess with the registry??
Programs that I cannot get rid of include:

Nero 9 Trial
SpySweeper
Belkin USB Adapter (tried to go wireless long ago and it didnt work. it didnt install correctly and it wont uninstall correctly)

Well there is an easy way of doing this that requires no software and little hassle. Go into “my computer”, click “C Drive”, then “Program Files”. Here you will find many folders named after software that you can use on your computer. Here you should be able to find the folder containing the software for the program you are looking for. If you don’t find it here go back to the C drive and search the name of the program (search may be under the file tab depending on how you have your tool bars set up). Now that you have found the folder for the program, delete it. this will remove the files of the program that are used for running it. What will likely be left is a shortcut on your desktop, delete this also, and probabaly a space in the start menu for it. If you cannot simply delete it from the start menu you can go into control panel, click on start menu, and choose to remove it from there. After you have done all of this the items you have deleted will be in the recycling bin, empty it out and you’re rid of the program.

Ok, all these services were added once i had tried to use the Adobe Suite cleaner tool to remove photoshop cs3, but all these things have flooded my add/remove programs list without the uninstall button under each of them in add/remove programs so i cant uninstall them doing it that way….

I have tried to uninstall using CCleaner but its tell me i need to use setup.exe to install them, and if i try to delete the entry it tells me that it cannot delete msi installer…. very tricky i say.

So i download perfect Uninstaller to see if that will work on these programs but perfect uninstaller doesn’t even show these programs in its list to uninstall programs..

I tried that Microsoft fixit thing but i think it only works for office 2xxx suites not adobe programs.

Im totally lost in what to do next and i just want them gone from my computer i also tried to remove the adobe folder but i get an access denied?

Can you help me please?

Okay so I just found out that I have 36,119 errors in my computer!
Thats even worse than before ! I had only 10,000 and something before .
I scaned my computer with PC speed maximizer . but that was just a scan I didn’t buy the full trial from it. But I do have microsoft security essentials . Please help me ! And my computer is at risk D:
Is there any free program that I can download from thats a not a virus & that will help me get those errors out or something that will help me get the errors out?

Download AVG but if your computer is that infected it may get blocked from installing correctly. If all else fails you might need to reboot everything and only save what is completely necessary. Sorry

I have no free disk space on my c drive, theres hardly anything to delete on the add/remove area, so I downloaded Perfect Uninstaller and it shows a whole bunch of old programs I used to have on the computer but it wont let me delete them. Is there a way to get to them? also on the perfect uninstaller the programs only come up when I click on the “special uninstall” area, dont know what that is though.

I am using windows xp and its somewhat corrupt. I dont really know any advanced computer stuff so any suggestions will help.

When you delete a program it only erase the first letter of the file names. Defragment your hard drive and you will find you have lots of space.

Start -> accessories -> system (?) -> defragment

i downloaded frostwire and it keeps changing my homepage to ask.com and i change it back to yahoo and it changes it self back. so i deleted it keeps changing it self back what do i do it is really annoying. i have also run the spyware stuff and i downloaded perfect uninstaller and nothing still there. i need help…… i also tried the comcast.net thing and it did not work at all so if there is something else i’m all ears

Re-download he yahoo tool bar, that will make you computers components yahoo, and then you can reset your homepage and it will stay

It not only find the files but also any and all registry entries. Which Add/Remove programs from the control panel doesn’t even do a good job at this.
